This study was initiated as a result of the purchase of the former CAMCO property by McMaster University. See story "McMaster University plans research park
on former Camco site". An interim control bylaw was passed in February, 2005 to prohibit the introduction of any new use permitted by the “K” District zoning for a period of one year while the study is conducted, except for office uses including laboratory, teaching, training and conference facilities. See story "Council passes an Interim Control By-law for the former Camco property and adjacent industrial land". |
