Golf/Winter Sports Park Request for Proposal (RFP)
Update to Council

May 25, 2005

City Council directed the Culture and Recreation Division to explore contracting-out the management of the Chedoke and King's Forest Golf Courses and the Chedoke Winter Sports Park. The process will involve the solicitation of submissions from outside interests in response to a RFP as well as an internal staff bid.

The Community Services Committee received an update report from the Golf/Winter Sports Park RFP Selection Committee on May 24, 2005. The report can by viewed at

The committee approved the report with one amendment:

Appendix A, Chedoke Winter Sports Park , Recommendation C:

Original wording:

(c) That on the review of initial submissions should it be determined that the winter sports park is not justifiable, only then would the alternative bid submission be considered on a golf only basis.

Revised wording:

(c) That on the review of initial submissions should it be determined that the winter sports park is not justifiable, only bidders reaching a minimum evaluation threshold would be considered on a golf only basis.

The revised report was approved by Council on May 25.
