The City of Hamilton has a plaque program that commemorates notable community organizations. In the case of the HNC, the City is recognizing its 85 years of working for the environment in and around Hamilton.
Councillor Brian McHattie was present, representing the City of Hamilton. Once the ceremonial part of the evening was finished, the festivities began. Activities included nature hikes as well as the fun of paddling voyageur canoes around Cootes Paradise.
Postscript:
Unfortunately the
original HNC plaque was stolen.
The replacement was unveiled on Heritage Day, February 19, 2005. In the photo are (L-R)
