During his report at the annual PACCR Community Forum held on March 30, 2006, Councillor McHattie unveiled a new Noise sign which was developed in partnership with the City of Hamilton, McMaster University and the McMaster Students Union.
The signs will be posted at King St. and Sterling, Forsyth and Sterling St., Forsyth and King St. W., on the walkway between Cootes Drive and Sanders Blvd., and at Rifle Range Road and Main St. W.
The signs will permit by-law personnel and Hamilton Police Service to ticket pedestrians who create excessive noise, while walking through these areas. They should be installed in time for the April 2006 "proactive" period, when McMaster students move out for the summer.
The Community Forum is jointly hosted by Councillor Brian McHattie, the City of Hamilton , McMaster's President's Advisory Committee on Community Relations (PACCR), the McMaster Students Union (MSU), and the Ainslie Wood Westdale Community Association of Resident Homeowners Inc. (AWWCA). |
